Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
UnscrollMe opens a single social media post someone shared with you, without the feed. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. This page explains the little data it does handle. It applies to the UnscrollMe apps for iPhone and Android and to unscrollme.app.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, names, email addresses or phone numbers.
- No contacts, photos, location or device identifiers.
- No third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Links you open
When you open a post, the app sends its link to our server so we can find the official embed for it (for example from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube). We use the link only to answer that request. Our server logs don't record the links you open or your IP address. We briefly keep a cache of public post details (like the title and thumbnail) for up to an hour so popular posts load faster. That cache isn't tied to you.
Usage totals
To know whether UnscrollMe is useful, our server keeps anonymous daily totals, for example "posts opened today from iPhone: 42" or "Instagram posts opened: 17". The app tells the server only what kind of app is asking (iPhone, Android, web, or the share sheet). The totals contain no identifiers, no IP addresses, and nothing about which posts were opened or by whom, so they can't be linked to you.
To count how many people use UnscrollMe each day, week and month, the app remembers on your device the week it was first opened and when it last checked in. The first time you open it each day, it tells our server only that week (for example "installed in week 41 of 2026") and whether this is its first use today, this week or this month. Nothing identifies you or your device, and the server only adds the check-in to that day's totals. In a browser, the same is remembered in the browser's local storage.
Share links
When you tap Share or Copy UnscrollMe link, we create a
short link such as unscrollme.app/v/abc1234. We store the public post address,
which platform it's from, when the link was created and when it was last opened. We don't
store who created it or who opened it. Anyone who has the short link can open the post, so
only share it with people you'd share the original post with.
Your clipboard
The app reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste from clipboard or Make an UnscrollMe link to send, and only to find a link in it. When you ask it to, the app copies a short link to your clipboard. Nothing from your clipboard is stored.
Posts are shown by the platforms
Posts are displayed using each platform's official embed (Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, X, YouTube or Pinterest). While a post is on screen, that platform's own code runs and may collect information under its own privacy policy, as it would on any website that embeds its posts. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode where available, and UnscrollMe blocks the embeds from opening other pages or feeds.
Service providers
Our website and server are hosted by Railway and delivered through Cloudflare, which process network traffic (including IP addresses) to run and protect the service. We limit how many requests a single connection can make per minute to prevent abuse; that limit is kept in memory for about a minute and isn't stored.
Children
UnscrollMe doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
